Recently Researching: The London Eye
I was talking to my dad the other day and we came to the realization that, although we had heard of the London Eye many time (in movies and books), we weren't entirely sure what it was. We knew it was a landmark in London (of course) but we had two different ideas of what structure it was. I thought it might be the egg shaped glass building you see in films but my dad was right in thinking it was a giant ferris wheel! In 1999, when it was built, it was the largest ferris wheel in the world! Built for the Y2K millennium it's currently sponsored Coca Cola. The wheel has 10 pods that hold 25 people and represent the 10 boroughs of London. One revolution takes 30 minutes.
