Mad Cat Garden | Jan 2022

February 8, 2022 Ana Mo Shoshin

Our 2021 garden was pretty awesome. It was expanded from previous years and we grew new and interesting things. It lasted well into the fall with gourds and flowers. But unfortunately I didn’t really chronicle much of last year. I want to make sure to change that in 2022. Starting in January, there’s not too much going on right now. The most exciting thing was the recent snow storm.

We actually had two storms in Jan. The first one was light and fluffy snow with almost no wind and it stuck to every branch. The next snow was wet and heavy and several feet deep.

I was pretty worried about our favorite herbs in the front beds during the second storm. But they seem to have come out unharmed. Except perhaps the curry. I was shocked it was still alive anyway. Do any of my readers have any experience with curry plants? I’d love some advice.

Did you have snow or other extreme weather in your area for the first month of the year?

I look forward to a whole new year in the garden!
