Victory Gardens

Spotting a garden and a kitty in the same spot? Pure Joy.

Spotting a garden and a kitty in the same spot? Pure Joy.

Last month I posted about how many new gardens had cropped up around town. I’m not sure how many of these victory gardens were created from the desire to be more self sufficient, the fear of food shortage, from having more time to experiment, or from boredom of being at home most of the time. No matter the reason, it’s been a great pleasure to walk around our neighborhood and spot new gardens or check on the progress or others.

In the beginning of June, this garden, which has parts spread out all over a large yard was fairly small as seen here. I’ll have to try and capture a after pic for next month as this garden is now huge!

I’ve been watching this garden for a few years, as it’s just down the street from me. They got a late start this year, but now it’s really rolling.

Did you create a victory garden this year? It’s not too late if you are still considering it. Hopefully all the viriety of beds shown here can inspire you! Have you spotted any gardens on your walks?
